Issue #1
Applies To: All versions of HEC-RAS and Windows Vista, Windows 7

Problem:

On Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines that had their operating systems installed onto machines with high resolution displays, truncation of textboxes and labels across all of HEC-RAS will occur because of bitmap fonts being scaled up to compensate for the high resolution display.

Solution:
  1. Download Win7_Font_Fix.zip to your computer.
  2. Extract the zip file.
  3. Double click on Win7_Font_Fix.reg, then either hit Yes or enter an admin account at the UAC Prompt.
  4. Select Yes to the prompts from the registry editor.
  5. Restart the computer.
A detailed explanation of the problem and what the registry fix does can be found here.

For HEC-RAS 4.2 we are changing the font to Tahoma to both improve the font rendering quality and to fix this specific scaling issue with bitmap fonts.
