HEC-GeoHMS 10.0
The following is a known issue with HEC-GeoHMS 10.0.

Issue #1
Applies To: 10.0

Problem:
Errors when running tools from HEC-GeoHMS toolbar.

Workaround:
 Do not enable the Background Processing option on the Geoprocessing Options editor. 

1. Go to Geoprocessing, Geoprocessing Options…
2. Make sure the Enable checkbox is not checked under Background Processing.

If background processing was checked then start the GeoHMS project over.


HEC-GeoHMS 5.0 and 10.0
The following is a known issue with HEC-GeoHMS 5.0 and 10.0.

Issue #1
Applies To: 5.0 and 10.0

Problem:
Errors when running tools from HEC-GeoHMS toolbar.

Workaround:
 

Try closing the ArcMap document and deleting all files in the TEMP folder. Then reopen the ArcMap document and try running the tool that resulted in the error.

To delete the contents of the TEMP folder follow the steps below.
  1. Open up a Command Prompt by going to:
    Start Menu, All Programs    , Accessories, Command Prompt
  2. Type the following, one at time hitting ENTER after each line.
    a. cd /d %TMP%
     b. rd /s .


HEC-GeoHMS 4.2.92 and 4.2.93
The following are known issues with HEC-GeoHMS 4.2.92 and 4.2.93.

Issue #1
Applies To: 4.2.92 and 4.2.93

Problem:
Issues when creating new project in HEC-GeoHMS.

Workaround:
To use HEC-GeoHMS with ArcGIS version 9.2, you must start the ArcMap document and your HEC-GeoHMS project by following the steps described in the PDF document. If you do not follow these steps, then you will not be able to create an HEC-GeoHMS project after finishing the Terrain Preprocessing steps.

Issue #2
Applies To: 4.2.92 and 4.2.93

Problem:
Errors when running tools from ArcHydro or HEC-GeoHMS toolbars.

Workaround 1:
Try closing the ArcMap document and deleting all files in the TEMP folder. Then reopen the ArcMap document and try running the tool that resulted in the error.

To delete the contents of the TEMP folder follow the steps below.
  1. Open up a Command Prompt by going to:
    Start Menu, All Programs    , Accessories, Command Prompt
  2. Type the following, one at time hitting ENTER after each line.
    a. cd /d %TMP%
     b. rd /s .

Workaround 2:
 Make sure the Arc Hydro Document is correctly set in the ArcToolbox Environment Settings. 

To open the ArcToolbox Environment Settings dialog...

1) Open ArcToolbox

2) Place the mouse pointer in the empty area (below last toolbox) within the ArcToolbox window and click the right mouse button

3) Choose the Environments… option.

Within ArcToolbox Environment Settings dialog, expand the list for Arc Hydro Settings and make sure the correct Arc Hydro Document is selected.  The correct Arc Hydro Document should be located in the same directory and have the same name as the ArcMap document.  The file extension for the Arc Hydro Document is ahd.
