For Windows:

After downloading the coed_2000.exe file and extracting the coed.exe file, copy coed.exe to the \hecexe directory.

For Solaris (January 2000):

Unzip the coed_solaris.zip file, place the "coed" executable into the ~/hec/bin directory. Then create a directory or link named "/usr/hectmp", and make it read-writable by everyone. This directory is used to hold edit backup files in case of a system crash.
