ResSim 4.1.2 Known Issues
Three new known issues were documented for 4.1.2. This list is the same as the one for ResSim 4.1.
| Topic | Component | Description | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
ResSim 4.0 downstream control results not as good as 3.5 | Compute | Users found that some downstream control operation required more iterations in 4.0 to provide results as good as v3.5. This issue was addressed in v 4.1 by some small modifications to the compute. | RESOLVED V4.1 |
getLookbackTimeSeries() does not work | Scripting | The method getLookbackTimeSeries() does not work. The javadocs have been updated to offer better guidance, but the method has not been removed. Workaround: Use getTimeSeries() instead. | WILL NOT FIX |
Storage Credit is affecting zone storage values. | Compute | The stor-zone previously did not correspond to elev-zone values when using the storage credit option. This issue has been addressed and now the reported zone storage is correctly taking the storage credit into account. | RESOLVED V4.1 |
Global Variables Limitations | Global Variable | These issues were resolved in 4.1:

Potential Miscalculation of Physical Maximum Release Capacity | Compute | This bug was originally reported for ResSim 3.5, and has been investigated but was not satisfactorily fixed for 4.1. See the 4.0 notes: ResSim 4.0 Known Issues - Potential Miscalculation of Physical Maximum Release Capacity | KNOWN ISSUE |
Mod Puls Routing Mass Balance Error if Incomplete Data is Provided | Compute, Routing | This bug was originally reported for ResSim 3.5, and has been investigated but not addressed for 4.0 or 4.1. Scenario: Occurs when Mod Puls storage-outflow relationship does not start with a zero flow entry How to Address: provide complete and valid input data. See the 4.0 notes: ResSim 4.0 Known Issues - Mod Puls Routing Mass Balance Error | KNOWN ISSUE |
Decreasing Flow Rate of Change Rule may Impact Guide Curve Operations. | Compute | See full description and workaround suggestions here: ResSim 4.0 Known Issues - Decreasing Flow Rate of Change Rule may Impact Guide Curve Operations. | KNOWN ISSUE |
Prescribed Release Rule | Editors | See the 4.0 notes: ResSim 4.0 Known Issues - Prescribed Release Rule Issues:
| KNOWN ISSUE |
OSI Limitations | OSI | See the 4.0 notes: ResSim 4.0 Known Issues - Operation Support Interface (OSI) Issues and Limitations
| KNOWN ISSUE |
Monte Carlo Limitations | Monte Carlo | The only known remaining issue is:

Ensemble Plotting | Ensemble Alternatives | See the 4.0 notes: ResSim 4.0 Known Issues - Ensemble Plotting Issues | KNOWN ISSUE |
Creating new Global Variable in simulation or forecast won't save to base | Global Variable | Creating a new global variable time series in the simulation module of HEC-ResSim or potentially a CWMS Forecast will not allow the new global variable to be saved to base. We recommend creating new global variables in the base copy of the model before testing them in a simulation or forecast. | KNOWN ISSUE |
Change to Variants in RTS Plugin Requires Updated Base Linkages | Model Linking | RTS plugin for HEC-ResSim now overwrites the fits file, using the model linkages from the linkages file in the model linking folder. In the base watershed, the Model Linking Editor for ResSim will display the pathnames that are in the .linkages files. In some cases, when the Model Linking was updated, the .linkages files were not updated to reflect those changes in the base watershed. Creating a new forecast, will create the outdated linkages into the forecast. To resolve this issue, update the linkages in the MLE in the base watershed. | KNOWN ISSUE |
Elev-Zone Model Variable in State Variable being added wrong | API | When you add Elev-Zone model Variables to a SV, it adds "reg" which causes the SV to fail at compute. When adding elev-zone, delete the "reg" after it is added. | KNOWN ISSUE |
