After creating a forecast and verifying the extracted data, it’s important to review model linking to ensure that data flows correctly between model alternatives before running the forecast.

This guide explains how to check and adjust model linking within your forecast.

Step 1: Open the Model Linking Editor

To access the Model Linking Editor:

  1. Go to the Modeling tab.
  2. From the Forecast menu, select Model Linking.
  3. The Model Linking Editor will open.

Step 2: Review and Confirm Model Linking

  1. In the editor, choose a Forecast Run from the dropdown list.
  2. Select a model alternative from the Model Requiring Input dropdown.
  3. Review the Input From and Location/Parameter columns to verify that data is correctly linked between model components.
  4. If any adjustments are made, click Apply before proceeding to save changes.
  5. Repeat this process for each forecast run and associated model alternative.
  6. Once all links are reviewed and confirmed, click OK to close the dialog.

Changes made here only apply to the active forecast. To update model linking for all future forecasts, go to the Setup tab and edit the model linking in the base watershed configuration.
