The System Properties tab displays the current system property values used by HEC-RTS. If you have the appropriate user access, you may be able to edit some or all of these properties. However, it's strongly recommended that you only view these properties for troubleshooting or reference purposes. Editing should be done with extreme caution, as changes can directly impact HEC-RTS functionality.

This guide teaches you how to add, edit, or delete a system property using the Options dialog in HEC-RTS.

Accessing the Dialog

  1. Launch HEC-RTS and open a watershed.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Options.
  3. Click the System Properties tab in the dialog.

Adding a System Property

  1. Click New.
  2. A Changes Not Saved dialog will appear, reminding you that any changes are temporary and not saved permanently.
  3. Click OK to continue.
  4. The New Property dialog will open.
  5. In the Property field, enter the name of the new system property.
  6. In the Property Value field, enter its value.
  7. Click OK. The new property will appear in the System Properties tab.
  8. Click Apply to save your edits and OK to close the dialog.

Editing a System Property

  1. Select a system property from the list.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. The Changes Not Saved dialog will appear.
  4. Click OK to proceed.
  5. The Edit Property Value dialog will open.
  6. Update the Property and/or Property Value fields as needed.
  7. Click OK. The updated property will appear in the System Properties tab.
  8. Click Apply to save your edits and OK to close the dialog.

Deleting a System Property

  1. Select the property you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete. A Confirm Property Delete message will appear.
  3. Click Yes to confirm. The selected property will be removed from the System Properties tab.
  4. Click Apply to save your edits and OK to close the dialog.
