CWMS/HEC-RTS Known Issues
Below is a list of Known Issues identified in the CWMS 3.3.0 release and their current status. Issues with a status of Resolved have been addressed and will be included in the next version of CWMS

Model Linking Editor "resets" Linking | After initial setup/confirmation of the Model Linking Editor in CWMS 3.3.0, opening the Model Linking Editor in the Setup Tab at a later date may prompt the user with "No CAVI Model Linkages found, Please Select which Model Linkages to Use". More information and the suggested workaround can be found here: | CWMS-1375 | RESOLVED |
Extracting pseudo Regular time series works in CWMS3.2.3 but not CWMS3.3.0 | Extracting Pseudo Regular Time Series (either from the CAVI or server-side) will fail if a Local Regular Time Series exists for the same location. A fix has been incorporated to properly distinguish between Pseudo Regular and Local Regular Time Series. The fix will be available in the CWMS 3.3.0 patch release version. | CWMS-1396 | RESOLVED |
Unable to view CDA catalog in data exchange - CDA Connection Blocked | CAVI requires a valid certificate chain to connect to CDA on the CPC due to Java's more stringent rules compared to those in the browser. Recent G6 security updates on the CPC have created an invalid certificate chain. A ticket has been created with G6 to fix. G6 fixed as of Sept 8th. | CWMS-1412 | RESOLVED |
Extract changing 1200 UTC to 2400 UTC | Daily time series that are 1200 UTC in the database are incorrectly extracted to the forecast.dss file as 2400 UTC. | CWMS-1400 | RESOLVED |
Extract Failing with Location does not exist ("?" prepended to location) | Several timezones that are acceptable for the CWMS database were not for the Java client code. So "EST", "HST", and "MST" were all having trouble extracting and aborting the extract. Additionally, these short IDs will not respect time zone shifts as they are not full time zone IDs. New log message for when these time zone IDs are being substituted. | CWMS-1421 | RESOLVED |
Extract and Post Editors not allowing "Replace Missing Values Only" | Both the Extract and Post Editors are only allowing for "Replace All" for "Storage Options". When trying to change the option, it will be reverted back to "Replace All". | CWMS-1414 | RESOLVED |
Model Linking does not allow flow-combine and flow-diversion parameters to link directly between HMS to RAS | Flow-Diversion and Flow-Combine HMS parameters are not available within the Model Linking Editor to link from HMS to other models (such as RAS). The recommended work-around is to add a junction in the HMS model to "collect" the Flow-Diversion from the Diversion element. The flow from the new junction can then be linked in the Model Linking Editor to RAS. The same approach could be used for Flow-Combine locations if necessary. This ability has never been supported in CWMS, but will be investigated for inclusion in a future release. | CWMS-1410 | FUTURE VERSION |

CWMS-Vue 3.3 Math - Time Function - Offset Issue | The "Time Offset" setting doesn't work in the "Time Function - Min/Max/Avg/… Over Period" Math Function. After using computing with the "Time Function", the workaround is to use the "Change Time Interval" function to set and apply the desired time offset. | CWMSVUE-495 | FUTURE VERSION |
Date issues when tabulating with Excel. | When tabulating data using the Tabulate with MS Excel, we are sometimes getting a date 100 years into the future. So 1999 in the DSS file, turns into 2099 in excel. If DSS has a date of 2000 or greater there are no issues.. | CWMSVUE-505 | FUTURE VERSION |

Security vulnerability | Fixed critical security issue to prevent unauthenticated remote code execution that affects all CWMS 3.x versions. | CWMS-1481 | RESOLVED |
Some Interval.durations Extract/Post not working in CWMS 3.3.0 | Server side error processing irregular and regular time offsets. Issue seen with Regular data with a non-zero offset and irregular "0" data. | CWMS-1398 | RESOLVED |
Login Server memory leak | After 700+ logging to CWMS memory errors occur causing CWMS to shut down. A reboot of CWMS solves the issue. A permanent fix has been developed and will be deployed with new server build | CWMS-1376 | RESOLVED |
CWMS 3.3 DataExchange Missing Data | The DataExchange program mishandling time series with vertical datum, causing missing data. Fixes have been made to the heclib.jar and both the client and server side | CWMS-1433 | RESOLVED |

Automatic Generation of Stored Maps during Compute Fails if Alternative Terrain is Selected | If the user specifies an alternative terrain for the Saved Maps (such as Max Depth), in RAS Mapper (IE a re-sampled terrain different than the terrain used for computations) then the Saved Maps won't be automatically created during the compute even if the Floodplain Mapping Box was checked for the simulation. Workaround: After simulation finishes computing, open RAS Mapper and manually compute/update stored maps. This is good practice anyway for the modeler to review output from RAS before saving the stored maps to disk. | CWMS-1281 | FUTURE VERSION |

Forecast Results not Visible in FIA for a Grids-Only Compute | In both CWMS 3.2.3 and CWMS 3.3.0 the result reports of a successful FIA Grid Only Alternative simulation are only available to view from the CAVI, and not within HEC-FIA. Work-around is to make sure to view the reports from within the CAVI. | CWMS-1235 | FUTURE VERSION |
Forecast will not retain correct linkages to depth grid if closed and then reopened. | HEC-FIA forecasts that link to RAS depth grids may fail to compute if the forecast is opened at a later date and re-computed. In this case CAVI incorrectly looks for the depth grids in the watershed folder instead of the forecast folder. Steps to resolve are located here: https://www.hec.usace.army.mil/confluence/cwmsdocs/cmrkit/latest/modeling-software-upgrade-notes/hec-fia/cwms-fia-tips#id-.CWMSFIATipsv3.3-KnownIssues | CWMS-1318 | RESOLVED |
Could Not Find Terrain "null" Error | For some forecasts that include a HEC-FIA project with a RAS HDF alternative, the terrain is not found during compute. Steps to resolve are located here: | FUTURE VERSION |
1 RESOLVED - Issues are fixed and will be available in the next release.
2 IN PROGRESS - Issues are currently being worked on.
3 IMPROVED - The next version includes an incremental improvement but not a total fix
4 FUTURE VERSION - This requires a structural change or major development. The team will add it to a future version if funding permits.
