The CAVI Dashboard is intended to be configured in many various ways so the end user can setup their configuration the way it best suites their needs.  There are five types of widgets that are within the dashboard (Text Block, Tabulate Panel, Plot Panel, Model Actions, and Map Panel).  The widgets are discussed in more detail later. Figure 1 demonstrates where the "Add Widget" option is and Figure 2 shows the interface after "Add Widget" is selected.  You can select any option from Figure 2 and the widget will be added but the window will remain open until the user clicks outside of the "templates" panel.  This allows you to add as many widgets as you would like without having to go through the process of locating the templates window again. Figure 1 also shows where to go for creating new configurations and to save the current configuration.  You can create new configurations to help keep organized while using the dashboard and each configuration will be in the drop down menu located under the ribbon at the top of the window.

Once the configuration is set up as desired, the user has the ability to "lock" the dashboard and likewise unlock it if modification are wanted.  The lock and edit options can be found under the "Edit" option within the main ribbon (Figure 3).  The "lock dashboard" function makes it to where the panels (widgets) cannot not be shifted, deleted, or edited. The "edit mode" puts the dashboard back into an editable mode so the user can move, remove, or edit the widget panels.

The toolbar can be customized for ease of use.  By default, the toolbar has a button to add a widget, save, refresh, and go through the configurations (Figure 4).  To customize the toolbar, right click in the empty space on the toolbar and select "customize"

Then the "Customize Toolbars" window should appear (Figure 5).  This shows all the options that can be moved to make for easy access on the toolbar.  To add the items to the toolbar, you first needs to select the "New Toolbar..." option denoted in the bottom left.  You then names the toolbar and can drag the item from the list to their toolbar.  Multiple new toolbars can be made.  Each toolbar can be moved on the toolbar in the grouping to help with organization and workflow.  Also, when right clicking on the toolbar, there are some predefined toolbar options, all of which can be added via the customize toolbar option with the exception of the performance option.  The performance toolbar helps monitor computer performance within the dashboard.

The CAVI Dashboard gives the ability to add as many widgets as you desires as well as resizing and moving the panels around (Figure 6 is an example of sizing and placement variation as well as showing an example of each widget).
