The data management plan outlines how data will be collected, stored, organized, secured, and utilized throughout the project lifecycle.

Data Collection

The types of data generated by activities in this PMP include documentation on project requirements, design documents, software code, verification and validation tests, user documentation, and technology transfer material.

Code Storage and Organization

Bitbucket and GitHub are used to store and organize CWMS and WMES software codebases, enabling seamless teamwork and version control amongst the team. Through branches, HEC team members can work on code changes independently while keeping the main codebase intact, facilitating code review processes and maintaining code quality. Bitbucket and GitHub offer features like pull requests, code reviews, and integrations with development tools, enhancing collaboration and ensuring code consistency.

Documentation Storage

Confluence, Teams, Discourse and GitHub are used for all documentation, including meeting notes, design documentation, guides and tutorials, training materials, user documentation, and question forums.

Data Security

Development tools require CAC or password authentication, this ensures the safeguard of sensitive project information.

Data Sharing and Collaboration

Atlassian tools, including Bitbucket, and GitHub facilitate seamless data sharing and collaboration among CWMS and WMES software development teams. Bitbucket and GitHub provide a centralized platform for storing, managing, and collaborating on source code. With features such as pull requests, code reviews, and integrations with other Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence, teams can efficiently collaborate on code changes, track project progress, and align development efforts.

Compliance and Governance

By integrating compliance and governance practices into data management strategies, CWMS and WMES developers can mitigate data-related risks, enhance data integrity, and build a foundation of trust and transparency in software development, support, and training operations.
