The approved CWMS "Other" budget is $2,875,000 for FY24. As with the ERC funds, the "Other" budget can be split into two categories: Sustainment and Development. Most of the "Other" budget for FY24 is allocated to the Development (enhancements) category.

While CWMS is authorized to expend up to this budgeted amount, the funding received from other sources may be less throughout the year. The funds that come from these various sources continue to have profound impacts in terms of the development and implementation of CWMS and related software. Contributors identified for FY24 are the MMC CWMS National Implementation Program and Headquarters USACE.

MMC CWMS National Implementation Program

The MMC is providing $700,000 for software development in FY24. That funding will be divided between different CWMS components as shown in the table below. HEC will also receive $170,000 to support the HEC-FIA Flood Damages Reduced effort.

Headquarters USACE Ensemble Funding

Headquarters provided funding to operationalize use of ensembles in CWMS. Ensembles include flow time-series from National Weather Service River Forecast Centers and application of the many meteorologic datasets that are available to the public. HEC software development teams created a plan to execute the $545,000 targeted at operationalizing flow and meteorologic ensembles in CWMS.
