The automated delineation of subbasins and stream networks in HEC-HMS relies on the analysis of a gridded Digital Elevation Model (DEM).  The geographic processing workflow transforms a raw topographic surface into a hydrologically connected network of routing elements.  This chapter details the various processes available within HEC-HMS.
