A user may be interested in having multiple zone configurations for supporting edits with different data types. For example, if the user is editing precipitation and temperature data within the same project, the edits for those data may need to be performed over different areas. There is no direct support for multiple zone configurations, but there is a recommended approach to implementing zone configurations. The example below shows how the user may create and leverage two zone configurations.
First, launch the Zone Editor from the Project Defaults:

Then create multiple zone configurations as shown below. In the image below, there are two configurations. The first has three zones, but the second has two zones.

After creation of multiple configurations, make a Map Window for each configurations, then inherit the Maps from the project as shown below:

This will bring both zone configurations into each Map Window as shown below:

Next, in each Map Window, remove the undesired configurations:

After this process, the appropriate configurations will be placed in the correct Map Windows, as shown below. At this point, it is possible to load different datasets into the two different Map Windows, and edit each dataset with the appropriate configuration.
