DSS SpecifiedGridInfo In HEC-MetVue
For grids in coordinate systems other than Albers and HRAP, there is a metadata type called SpecifiedGridInfo. In this metadata, there is a WKT, coordinates for the origin cell, and row/column offsets. The origin cell is the farthest lower left corner at which the grid can be specified. From that lower left corner, the row/column offset are integers that specify offset from the origin cell. With these parameters, there are many possibilities for specifying the geographic region of the gridded data. The origin cell coordinates can be any location that is equal to, or to the left and below, the lower left cell of the grid being written. If the origin cell coordinates do not correspond to the coordinates of the lower left cell of the grid being written, then the row/column offsets must be non-zero to shift the grid into the correct location.
Within HEC-MetVue, all SpecifiedGridInfo writing have row and column offsets equal to zero. This means that the origin cell coordinates are always equal to the geographic location of the lower left cell of the grid.
