HEC-MetVue is deployed with some plugins and they are shown on the Installed tab in the dialog, as shown in the Plugin Manger dialog example below.   When a row in the list of available plugins is selected, the right side of the dialog tab gives a description of the selected plugin.

Plugins can be enabled or disabled from the Active column of the Plugins dialog Installed tab.  Examples of the Plugin Manager activation and confirmation dialogs are illustrated below.

Restating HEC-MetVue is required when either activating or deactivating a plugin(s).   If certain features are not necessary for a user application, deactivating certain plugins reduces HEC-MetVue's memory usages.  Typical HEC-MetVue plugins that are activated by default include storm analysis tools (such as HMR52) and I/O plugins (such as the AsciiGrid and NetCDF plugins).  HEC-MetVue has built in support for reading its own native TIN and NEXRAD HRAP grid files as well as HRAP and SHG grid records stored in DSS. Although the native file and DSS readers are plugins, they are not displayed in the Plugin Manager and cannot be deactivated.

Plugins that are deployed with HEC-MetVue should never be uninstalled. These plugins are supplied in the various jars that are part of the HEC-MetVue package and are not contained in a separate ".NBM" module file.  In the event a plugin is accidentally uninstalled that was part of the original install, the most straightforward way to recover is to completely uninstall and reinstall the program following the instructions in this manual.
