HEC-MetVue is capable of visualizing data in all well known coordinate systems. Based on the selected coordinate system, the data in a Map Window will be projected onto the screen. Since different data and maps (shapefiles) can be provided in different coordinate systems, it's convenient to have all data converted to a common coordinate system for projection. Although convenient, working with data defined in different coordinate systems requires careful consideration of the display coordinate system, to prevent the display from appearing distorted.
