The Properties tab defines general properties for the Project, Session, or Map Window. The Properties tab is available when any of those nodes are selected in the Project Explorer or when a Map Window is selected.

The following table provides definitions for the features available in the Properties tab.

Properties Settings Options

Definition

Map window Background

Sets the background color for the selected object. . The ellipsis button on the side invokes an external editor which displays a standard color dialog.

Color Scale

The defined color scale to use in the Map Window display layers.

Map attribute schema

The attribute schema to use to relate shapefile objects to line styles.

Map Projection

The projection used by the selected object for display. The ellipsis button on the side invokes an external editor to make map projection selections (see Display Coordinate Systems).

Display Units

Units to use when displaying TIN/Grid data in the Map Window.

Polygon Avg Method for Grids

Method for computing polygon averages when gridded data is loaded into the Map Window. Options are TIN Surface, Grid Cell Average and Use Work Session Setting.

  • TIN Surface interpolates across the triangulated grid to compute average values.
  • Grid Cell Average assumes entire area within a Grid Cell is of uniform value.
  • Use Work Session Setting uses the setting specified in the parent Session's properties.

Image Rotation Centerpoint

Method for computing the rotation centerpoint when editing data in the Map Window. Options are Map Window Center, Geometric TIN Center, Weighted TIN Center, User Defined and Use Work Session Setting.

  • Map Window Center uses the center of the displayed Map Window.
  • Geometric TIN Center uses the center of the TIN spatial extents.
  • Weighted TIN Center uses the mass weighted center of the TIN spatial extents.
  • User Defined relies on the user to specify the longitude and latitude of the rotation center.
  • Use Work Session Setting uses the setting specified in the parent Session's properties.

User Defined Image Rotation Longitude

User defined center longitude (in decimal degrees format, e.g. -89.132) of the data for rotation.

User Defined Image Rotation Latitude

User defined center latitude (in decimal degrees format, e.g. 36.985) of the data for rotation.

Auto Cache Dynamic Time Window Data

Performs caching of data for use in Dynamic Time Window Scanning. This prevents the data from being reloaded when Dynamic Time Window Scanning is enabled.
