Overview

Manipulating existing precipitation data can be useful for investigating "what if?" scenarios. For example, what if a forecast changes and more rain falls than anticipated? 

HEC-MetVue can be used to easily manipulate precipitation data to respond to this type of "what if" scenario. 

The tasks within Part C of the HEC-MetVue Orientation tutorial demonstrates various precipitation preprocessing methods for adjusting precipitation grids prior to using them within HEC-HMS. Tasks include: 

• Task C.1 – Open the HEC-HMS Model
• Task C.2 – Trimming & Factoring a Storm. (analyzing impacts within HMS)
• Task C.3 – Trimming & Translating a Storm (analyzing impacts within HMS)
• Task C.4 – Creating Basin Average Hyetographs (analyzing impacts within HMS)
