Mixture Density

The density of the water-sediment mixture is calculated with the following constitutive equation:

where $//<![CDATA[ \begin{array}{l}\rho_w\end{array} //]]>$is the water density, $//<![CDATA[ \begin{array}{l}\rho_s\end{array} //]]>$is the particle density, and $//<![CDATA[ \begin{array}{l}C_v\end{array} //]]>$ volumetric concentration between 0 and 1. The above equation assumes that all of the voids between the particles are occupied water and that there is no air in the mixture.
