After an unsteady RAS project has been calibrated, the first step in developing an ungaged inflow model is to enter the internal observed stage and flow data at the known gage locations. From the Unsteady Flow editor, select the river station that the gage is at, press the "Add a Boundary Condition Location" button and then click on "IB Stage/Flow" (Figure 7-63). Figure 763. Unsteady Flow Boundary Conditions Editor.
This will bring up the Observed Stage and Flow Hydrograph editor: Figure 764. Internal Stage and Flow Boundary Condition Editor.
The gage data may either be linked to a DSS file or it can be entered in the table. For use in forecast mode, (optimization based on stage), stage is the only data that is required. For use in historical flow mode, (optimization based on flow), both stage and flow data is required (see hydraulic reference for more info).
