Now that you've imported a time series, extract a summer season annual maximum series of daly average flow.

  • Right click on the BALD EAGLE CREEK BL SPRING CREEK-MILESBURG, PA-FLOW gage record within the Study Explorer under Data.
  • Select Filter Data…
  • Leave all options unselected on the Dates and Thresholds tab.
  • Move to the Peaks tab.
  • Check the Filter to Annual Maxima box and enter a Start of Year date of 01Oct, as shown in the following figure.

Filtering to Annual Maxima

  • Click Save Filtered Data Set As…
  • Within the Save as New Data Set window:
    • Enter a name of Mixed Peaks.
    • Change the F-part to USGS - Mixed.
    • The Save as New Data Set dialog should resemble the following figure.

  • Click OK to create a new time series.
  • Hold the Ctrl key and select both the original daily flow time series and Mixed Peaks time series within the Study Explorer.
  • Click Data | Plot.
  • You should see a plot of the original daily flow and mixed peak annual maximum series within the same plot, as shown below.  Click on the legend items to better identify which line style corresponds to which time series.
