The Independent Variable Definition dialog is used anywhere a model element allows a functional relationship (lookup table) to be defined as "a function of" one of a set of options including: Date, Date and Time, Model Variable, External Variable, State Variable, and sometimes even Two Variables, depending on the element and feature. The three most common forms of the Function of: option list are shown in "Figure: Option Lists for the Independent Variable Definition Dialog".
