Reducing image size is a great way to increase site perform and reduce TTL, time to load. 

One of the easiest ways to do this is by uploading your existing images to a site like TinyPng.com

It will take a png/jpg and compress the image and reduce overall file size through compression. This does not have any noticeable difference on appearance. 


File Formats

Another modern solution to reducing image size and increasing performance when it comes to file/image assets is to consider the image format. 

Modern formats include WebP and AVIF
