The Model Schematic Layers provide a visual representation of the computational models used in the active forecast alternative. In some cases, the map may become cluttered, making it harder to view or interact with individual model elements.

This guide shows you how to show or hide sub-layers for specific models in the forecast, helping you simplify the map and work more efficiently.

Viewing Model Schematic Layers

To show or hide sub-layers:

  1. In the Modeling tab, go to the Maps menu and select Map Layers.
  2. In the Map Layers editor, expand the Model Schematic layer.
  3. Find the model alternative you want to manage (e.g., HEC-FIA).
    1. To hide a sub-layer, uncheck the box next to the model name. The layer will be removed from the map.
    2. To show a sub-layer, check the box next to the model name. The layer will appear to the map.
  4. Repeat as needed for other sub-layers.

Setting Model Schematic Layers for Specific Forecast Runs

To save map layer visibility settings for a specific Forecast Run, follow these steps:

  1. In the Setup tab, right-click the desired Forecast Run in the Watershed Tree and select Display in Map Window.
    Display in Map Window
  2. Go to the Maps menu and select Map Layers.
  3. In the Map Layers dialog, (with the Setup Model Schematic selected) uncheck Model Schematic along with any sub-layers you want to hide. In the example below, the HEC-FIA layer was unselected.
    Map Layer Defaults
  4. Close the Map Layers dialog.
  5. Save the watershed.

Any new forecasts created using this specific Forecast Run will automatically inherit and respect these custom map layer settings.
