Log reports display computational messages from the simulation of a forecast run. The Compute Progress dialog opens when the simulation of a forecast run begins, as shown in the figure below.
CWMS provides status information by model alternative. The Message Bar indicates which model alternative is being simulated, the Current Task Progress Bar indicates the percentage of completion for the current task, and the Overall Progress Bar indicates the percentage of completion of the entire forecast compute. In the example show above, theMessage Bar indicates that the HEC-RAS model alternative is running, theCurrent Task Progress Bar indicates that the HEC-RAS model run is 50% complete, and the Overall Progress Bar indicates the entire compute is approximately 35% complete. When the forecast run is complete, both progress bars will display 100%, and the Message Barwill display Compute Complete.
The information from the Compute Progress dialog is also available in a log report. This log report contains the same information displayed in the Message Output field of the Compute Progressdialog. Additionally, the report gives detailed information regarding model alternatives that were computed.
To view the log file:
Right-click on the name of the forecast run in the Forecast Run Details list and choose Compute Log from the shortcut menu.
You can also access the log file from the Reports tab by clicking on the Compute Log button.
The Log File dialog will open, allowing you to view the compute messages generated during the forecast run.
