The location listed in the Model Linking Editor for HEC-RAS inputs will be the river station and node name. Using descriptive node names will help you when linking to other models. 

To configure node names in your HEC-RAS model:

  1. From the Setup module, open HEC-RAS from the CAVI toolbar.
  2. Open the geometry editor (Edit > Geometric Data) within the HEC-RAS model.
  3. Open the Node Name Table using the Tables > Names > Node Names menu item in the Geometric Data editor.

  4. Specify a node name for each river station with a boundary condition in the Node Name column. It may be useful to open the boundary condition editor to correlate river stations, node names, and boundary condition locations.
  5. Click OK once you have completed your edits.
  6. Save and close HEC-RAS.
