Precipitation data can be reviewed at the time series icons to examine individual gage reports, identify problems, and confirm the validity of the data. The Visualization module also allows precipitation data to be viewed as grids (Figure 1), which gives a view of the precipitation over the whole watershed for an interval of time.

Precipitation grids are created by interpolation between gages or by loading radar precipitation reports from the National Weather Service or other external sources. Individual precipitation grids are grouped into sequences called "gridsets" using the HEC-GridUtil program. To view gridsets in CWMS you will use the grid animation controls in the Visualization Module.
