You can edit a rating curve using either the Rating Plot or the Rating Data Table. From the CWMS-Vue Dialog, from the CWMS Ratings tab, from the Rating specifications node, expanded a location. From the list of effective dates for the location, right-click on an effective date, from the shortcut menu, click Open Rating Editor Window, the CWMS Rating Editor will display.
Edit a Rating Curve Using the Rating Data Table
To edit a rating curve using the Rating Data table:
- Click on a cell to select it.
- Enter the new data point value.
- Click Enter.
To delete a data point from a rating curve using the Rating Data table:
- Right-click on the cell in the first column of the row you wish to delete to access the context menu associated with that data pair.
- Select Delete from the menu to delete the point.
To add a data point to a rating curve using the Rating Data table:
- Right-click on the cell in the first column of the row you wish to add a point near to access the context menu associated with that data pair.
- Select Add Above or Add Below from the menu (up to five points above or below). By default, these points will be populated using the values interpolated from the rating curve.
- Edit the added values as desired.
In addition, the right-click menu can be used to Copy and Paste points in this table. Any changes to this table will be reflected in the Rating Curve Plot.
Once you are satisfied with the changes made to the rating curve, click the Save or Save As button (located at the upper left of the Rating Editor) to commit the changes to the CWMS database. The Restore Original Data command, located from the Edit menu, can be used to undo changes made to the rating curve before the changes are committed.
Edit a Rating Curve using the Rating Plot
To edit a rating curve with multiple parameters, from the Rating Plot:
- Click on a curve to select it.
- Click on a data point (depicted as a small box) to select it, and the point will change to a red triangle.
- Drag the data point to the desired location. Modified points will be highlighted as small yellow boxes.
To delete a data point from a rating curve using the Rating Plot:
- Click on a curve to select it.
- Right-click on a data point (depicted as a small box) to access the context menu associated with that point.
- Select Delete from the menu to delete the point.
In addition, the right-click menu can be used to delete the entire curve and select all data points. If the user edits the point on the plot, either by dragging or deletion, it will adjust the values tabulated in the Rating Data table.
