Now that you have created a forecast, you are ready to compute the forecast runs associated with that forecast. Before you do a compute, you need to check the data that was retrieved from the CWMS database that will be used during the compute.

You should review the Extract Report to verify that the data was extracted correctly and no errors occurred during the process.

There are multiple ways to access the Extract Report log in the CAVI:

  1. Within the Modeling module, select the Forecast menu. Choose Logs, then Extract Report.
  2. You can also right-click on the name of the forecast alternative and choose Extract Report from the shortcut menu.
  3. You can view the Extract Report from the Messages Pane in the main CAVI window. Click on the Extract tab to view the log file.

The Extract Report displays the log file that was generated when the extract process was executed. The name of the active forecast appears in the title bar of the dialog and the location of the log file is displayed in the File box. Displayed are the results from the retrieval of the data needed by the CWMS models. If errors are shown, you can correct the data in the forecast.dss file using CWMS-Vue. Remember, you are only correcting or editing the data for the active forecast. If data corrections are required in the CWMS database, see Monitoring and Validating Incoming Data. When you have finished reviewing the extract results, from the File menu, click Close. The Extract Report dialog will close.
