As described in Map Layer Formats, the CAVI supports several map layer formats, each with its own properties. From the Map Layerseditor, right-click on a layer you want to edit and from the shortcut menu, select Properties.
The appropriate properties editor will display. For example, if you have selected a map layer that is a polygon shapefile, the Edit Polygon Propertiesdialog will open. Here, you can specify the visual style for the layer (fill and border) and its labels. Properties dialogs vary depending on the type of layer you are editing.
