The Modeling module allows you to create and run forecasts within the CAVI. From the CWMS CAVI main window, click the Modeling tab.

Menu Bar

The File, View, Tools, Windows, and Help menus are discussed in Overview of the CWMS Interface. The commands available from the Forecast menu will allow you to create/edit/delete forecasts, run forecasts daily so you can review conditions during an event, and post results to the CWMS database.

Forecast Menu

  • New - create a new forecast
  • Open - open an existing forecast
  • Recent - displays a list of the most recent forecasts to choose from
  • Continue - continue forecasting with an archived forecast
  • Compute Manager - force a recompute of selected forecast(s)
  • Run Selector - select forecast runs for the current forecast (add ore remove forecast alternatives)
  • Edit Time Window - edit the time window of the active forecast
  • Information - view the name, description, and model alternatives associated with the active forecast
  • Extract - run extracts from pre-existing extract groups  
  • Post - run posts from pre-existing post groups groups 
  • Logs
    • Extract Report - open the extract report log for the current forecast
    • Post Report - open the post report log for the current forecast
    • Compute Log - open the compute log file for the current forecast
  • Close - close the active forecast
  • Save - save the active forecast
  • Archive - archive a saved forecast
  • Delete - delete a saved forecast
  • Restore - restore forecasts not in current watershed
  • Default Time Window - change settings of default time window (extract period, look back period, and forecast length)
  • Model Linking - edit model linking for the active forecast
  • Forecast Scheduler - schedule forecasts to compute on a recurring interval
  • Scheduled Forecast Manager - edit or delete scheduled forecasts
