To link the model alternatives: 

  1. From the Setup module, open the Model Linking Editor by selecting Model Linking from the Models menu.

  2. Select the forecast run you wish to configure from the Forecast Run drop-down list. Then select a model alternative from the Model Requiring Input drop-down list. In the example below, the MetVue-NexradQPF model alternative for the metvue-summer-FC-unsteady forecast run was selected.

  3. In the Model Linking Editor table, specify the Input From for each row as either a model alternative or Extract List. In the example shown below for an HEC-ResSim model alternative, the computed flows were linked to the HEC-HMS model alternative, while the observed flows and elevations were linked to the Extract List.

  4. For each row with an Input From specified with a model alternative, specify the Location/Parameter of the required input. CWMS will try to choose the inputs based on the location/parameter names in each of the models, but you should verify that the linking is correct. You can select the model inputs from the drop-down list in the Location/Parameter column.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each model alternative in the Model Requiring Input drop-down list.
  6. Repeat all steps for each Forecast Run you wish to configure.
  7. Click Apply to save your changes, then click OK to close the dialog.
