Water Quality Plots

Water Quality plots* are accessible by right-clicking on objects displayed in the map panel. Each type of object has a corresponding plot that can be generated to visualize water quality data. Below are the available plots for each type of object in the map panel:

• Reservoirs - WQ Color Contour Plot: This plot provides a spatial visualization of water quality across the entire reservoir. It shows variations in constituents using color gradients, offering a quick overview of how water quality is distributed throughout the reservoir.

• Reaches:

  • WQ Profile Plot: This plot shows how water quality changes along the length of a river reach. 
  • WQ Time Series Plot: This plot displays how constituents evolve over time at a specific point within the reach. 

• Junctions - WQ Time Series Plot: Similar to the reach time series, this plot shows how constituents change over time at a junction. 

*Limitations: Currently, the plots can only be generated for the Active Water Quality Alternative. Future versions of ResSim will support the use of multiple alternatives for plotting water quality results.

All plots, except for the Color Contour Plot, support the standard ResSim plot edit options. These options allow users to customize and modify the appearance of the plots. Detailed instructions on using these plot editing options can be found in the HEC-ResSim User's Manual.
