Creating a New Dispersion Coefficient Set
To create a new dispersion coefficient set:
From the Dispersion Coefficient Set Editor (Figure 10.2), from the Dispersion Coefficient Set menu (Figure 10.3), click New. The Create New Dispersion Coefficient Set dialog box (Figure 10.4) opens.
Enter a name for the dispersion coefficient set (e.g., DispersionCoefficientSet1 in Figure 10.6) in the Name box. Enter a description (optional, but recommended) in the Description box (Figure 10.6). Below the Description is a dropdown list: Geometry (Figure 10.6).
From the Geometry list (Figure 10.6), select the desired geometry dataset.

Click OK to close the Create New Dispersion Coefficient Set dialog (Figure 10.6) and save the new dispersion coefficient set. The created dataset is added to the dispersion coefficient set navigation bar in the Dispersion Coefficient Set Editor (Figure 10.2).
The Create New Dispersion Coefficient Set dialog (Figure 10.6) also checks that the dispersion coefficient set has a unique name. If the name already exists when the OK button is clicked, then a Duplicate Name message dialog opens (similar to Figure 4.16) stating that the user must enter a unique name for the dispersion coefficient set.
From the Duplicate Name message dialog, click OK, and from to the Create New Dispersion Coefficient Set dialog (Figure 10.6), enter a unique name in the Name (Figure 10.6) box and click OK. The Create New Dispersion Coefficient Set dialog (Figure 10.6) closes, and the created dataset is added to the dispersion coefficient set navigation bar in the Dispersion Coefficient Set Editor (Figure 10.2).
If the Geometry list is left empty, then a warning message opens (similar to No Geometry Selected dialog, Figure 6.10). Close this warning message dialog and select the missing geometry dataset. Click OK to close the Create New Dispersion Coefficient Set dialog (Figure 10.6) and save the new dispersion coefficient set.
The Dispersion Coefficient Set Editor updates with the information contained in the linked Geometry dataset (including the Reservoirs and Reaches).
