To create a new mass injection set:

  1. From the Mass Injection Set Editor, from the Mass Injection Set menu (Figure 11.8), click New. The Create New Mass Injection Set dialog (Figure 11.9) opens.

  1. The Create New Mass Injection Set dialog contains fields for the new Name and Description. Users will also need to specify a WQ Constituent Set and Geometry.

  1. Below the Description are two selector panels that list all the inactive (Available Mass Injections panel) and active (Selected Mass Injections panel) mass injection sites (Figure 11.9). The met stations are listed in alpha-numeric order in the selector panels.

By default, the Selected Mass Injections panel contains all mass injection sites in the watershed. Use the selector panels to select the mass injection sites that are active or inactive for the new or edited mass injection dataset.

  1. Click OK to close the Create New Mass Injection Set dialog (Figure 11.9) and save the new mass injection dataset. The created dataset is added to the navigation bar in the Mass Injection Set Editor (Figure 11.12).

  1. Next, the user must select the WQ constituents to include in the mass injection set, by mass injection site. From the selection tree, right-click the mass injection site of interest, and a shortcut menu (Figure 11.13) opens. From the shortcut menu, click Add/Remove Constituents. The Constituents Selector dialog opens (Figure 11.14).

  1. The Constituents Selector dialog contains an option to "Add To All Mass Injection Sites" and selector panels that list all the Available Constituents and Selected Constituents.

  1. Check the checkbox "Add To All Mass Injection Sites" to add the selected constituents to all mass injection sites in the mass injection dataset.

  1. From the Available Constituents, select the constituents to add to the mass injection site(s). Click the Add button to add the selected items, or click Add All to add all of the Available Constitutes to the Selected Constituents panel.

  1. Click OK to add the selected constituents to the Mass Injection Set Editor for the selected observed station (or all observed stations in the dataset).

  1. The user can add mass injection data from two sources: Constant Value and DSS; review 3.5.1 for instructions on using these two Data Source options.
