The Connections tab (Figure 4.27) contains a table providing a list of the HEC-ResSim reaches and dropdown lists for selecting the best upstream and downstream HEC-RAS cross-sections. The Reach column (Figure 4.27) lists the reaches in the HEC-ResSim network. The Upstream Cross Section and Downstream Cross Section columns (Figure 4.27) list the HEC-RAS cross-section (cross-section identification set by river mile, refer to the HEC-RAS User's Manual for more information regarding cross-sections).

The user can change the assigned cross-section if it is not correct for the HEC-ResSim reach by using the corresponding dropdown list of cross-sections in the table. A useful ability of the Geometry Editor (Figure 4.28) is that if a network element is selected from the Connections tab, then from the HEC-ResSim main window, the selected element is highlighted and zoomed to in the map window schematic display area (e.g., Yoakim Bridge is highlighted in yellow in Figure 4.28). This ability is useful when editing the upstream and/or downstream cross-section linkages, as described in Section 4.6.1.
