Applying filters to large DSS files help users locate specific pathnames and time windows more quickly.
Task 1 will demonstrate the "Select Specific TIN(s)" filters that are available within the DSS Data Reader.
Create a New Map Window.
Right-Click on the "Pearl-Part B" Session.
From the "Sessions and Maps" option, select "Add Map Window."
Enter the name "Specific TINs" for the new Map Window in the dialog that pops up and press OK.
Add Data with "Select Specific TIN(s)."
Open the DSS Data Reader by expanding the "Specific TINs" Map Window Node in the HEC-MetVue Explorer Window.
Right-Click on the TIN node and click on "Select DSS paths…"

Make the following DSS file selection:
...\HEC-MetVue_DssDataReader\HEC-MetVue_DssDataReader_Start\Data\DSS\precip.2021.08.dss
Ensure that the "Temporally" Combine TINs and "Select Specific TIN(s)" options are selected within the DSS Data Reader.

Filter the DSS Catalog to display only the LMRFC-QPE precipitation records in the Pearl River watershed by selecting the dropdown arrow next to the "B:" path and selecting "Pearl River" and then selecting "LMRFC-QPE" as the the "F:" path.
Highlight the gridded precipitation records from 29Aug2021 0000 to 31Aug2021 2400.
Press the "Add Sel" button.

Notice that pressing "Add Sel" transfers the selected records down into the lower selection box signifying that these records will be added to the HEC-MetVue Map Window. All tins must be selected from the Available TINs list when "Select Specific TIN(s)" is selected.
Press OK to close the selection editor and view the LMRFC-QPE precipitation data in the Pearl River basin from 29 to 31 August 2021.
Zoom in closer to the Pearl River watershed if necessary by right-clicking within the Map Window and selecting "Encompass Data → TIN."

Expand the TIN node to view the 72 TINs that were added to the map based on the selection criteria.

Part B - Task 2 will explore additional ways to filter input data.
