For these data the averages of the reach length values for the two corresponding symmetric cases closely approximated the values determined for the asymmetric cases. When the regression equations for Le, ER, and Lc were applied to the asymmetric cases, the predicted values were near the observed values. This indicates that the regression relationships for the transition reach lengths can also be applied to asymmetric cases (that is, most real-world cases).
