System Requirements

ResSim Linux has been tested on Fedora 35 and Ubuntu 20.04/22.04. Other distributions and configurations may work, but have not been tested.

ResSim Linux currently only supports the x86_64 architecture. ARM, POWER, SPARC, and other architectures are untested/unsupported.

ResSim Linux 3.5 requires libgfortran.so.5 to be present on the system for the HEC DSS library to function properly.

ResSim Linux requires Bash to be present on the system.

ResSim Linux Install Package

The ResSim Linux Install package will be provided as either a tar.gz or a zip. These packages should already have appropriate file permissions (+x) set to permit ResSim to run.

Before attempting to run ResSim, you must fully extract the contents of the Install package.

Running ResSim on Linux

To run ResSim on Linux, locate the "HEC-ResSim.sh" script. This should be in the root directory of the extracted Install package. Execute this script. In GNOME, right-click and choose "Run as Program." In KDE, single or double-click to open the file and choose "Execute" when prompted. From a terminal, run ./HEC-ResSim.sh .
