Open the Alternative and Simulation Manager
To create a new alternative and simulation for the HEC-ResSim model alternative:
1. From the HEC-WAT main window, from the WAT Tools toolbar, click 
. The Alternative and Simulation Manager dialog box will open.
2. To create a new simulation in a new alternative, from the toolbar click the Create a new Alternative icon 
. The Create New Alternative dialog opens.
- In the Name textbox, enter "Baseline", from the Schematic list select (Without Project Conditions), and click OK.
- The new alternative will be added to the table and to the Study Tree. Also, the Without Project Conditions schematic will open in a new Map Window in the Desktop Pane.
3. From the table, right-click on the intersection of an alternative Baseline and analysis period RR_Jan1997. From the shortcut menu, click Create Simulation From.
From the opened Select Simulation dialog box, select the WO-RR_Jan1997 simulation and click Open.
4. The Create New Simulation dialog box will open with the same analysis period, program order, and models selected as used in the WO-RR_Jan1997. Note, the name of the simulation is set automatically; however, at this point the name can be modified.
5. We will now modify the copied simulation to use the new Baseline HEC-ResSim model alternative. From the Alternative column, from the list for ResSim, select the (Baseline) alternative.
6. Click OK, the Create New Simulation dialog will close, and the simulation will be added to the table in the Alternative and Simulation Manager dialog box. Click Apply to add the simulation to the Study Tree.
7. Click OK, and the Alternative and Simulation Manager dialog box will close. From the HEC-WAT main window, the created alternatives and simulations appears on the Study Tree, under the Simulations folder. Expand the Simulations folders to view the two new simulations.
8. Save the HEC-WAT study, from the HEC-WAT main window, click File | Save Study. Close the map window schematic open in the Desktop Pane.
