HEC-WAT Version 1.1.0 was used to create this example. You can open the example WAT study with HEC-WAT Version 1.1.0 or a newer version. RAS 6.1.0 is expected to be installed.
An HEC-RAS model and an accompanying HEC-FIA model were used which covered a large portion of the Russian River watershed. The modeling domain for the HEC-RAS model (and subsequent output) was reduced for use within this workshop in an attempt to decrease run times as well as narrow the focus of this workshop. This reduced area encompasses the Russian River watershed of Coyote Valley Dam to a point slightly downstream of the USGS Hopland gage. The figure below provides a comparison of the simplified HEC-RAS modeling domain (left) against the HEC-RAS modeling domain used in the previous workshops.
Purpose
Within this workshop, you will gain experience using HEC-RAS and HEC-FIA within FRA computes using the simplified Russian River watershed. The following major tasks will serve as an outline for this workshop:
Examine the Study Files.
Make Adjustments to the HEC-RAS Alternative.
Simulate the HEC-FIA Alternative in the Base Directory.
