Figure: Reach Editor - Routing Tab

The Reach Editor's Routing tab ("Figure: Reach Editor - Routing Tab") is where you will select the reach's hydrologic routing method and enter the parameters for the selected method. There are eight routing methods to choose from:

Each method requires a different set of parameters.

Select the routing method for the reach from the dropdown list of the Method selector. The panel below the Method selector will fill with the appropriate fields for defining the parameters for the routing method you selected.

NOTE: If the flow entering a reach is negative, only the Null and Coefficient Routing methods will "route" that negative flow to the outflow of the reach. All other routing methods will not route negative flow and will instead produce a zero outflow. This "zero-ing out" of the negative inflow has the net effect of "creating water" and could be considered a violation of the conservation of mass of the system.

Variable Routing Based on Compute Timestep

NEW IN RESSIM 3.5

Routing settings (method and parameters) can now be associated with the compute timestep, such that you can associate different settings with different compute timesteps. By default, the routing settings are applied for any compute timestep (Time Step labeled ALL), but you can create additional routing settings for different timesteps.

Use the Routing menu to create New routing settings, make copies (Copy) of existing routing settings, or Delete settings that are no longer desired.

In the New Routing dialog, select the Routing Time Step for which you want to create routing settings.

Note - do not delete the routing settings with the Time Step labeled "ALL".  This one is needed by default.  BUG IN RESSIM 4.0
