To perform a water quality simulation on an existing HEC-ResSim watershed, set the properties of the watershed to include water quality. To enable water quality modeling from the HEC-ResSim main window, go to the Watershed Setup module (HEC-ResSim Main Window – without Water Quality Modeling). From the Edit menu, click the Watershed Properties option (HEC-ResSim Main Window – without Water Quality Modeling).

The Watershed Data Editor (Watershed Data Editor) will open. In the Watershed Data Editor, check the Use Water Quality checkbox to enable water quality modeling. From the Stream Alignment Units dropdown menu, select the units for the reaches, and click OK (Watershed Data Editor).  The Watershed Data Editor will close, and the HEC-ResSim main window will update to reflect the new water quality modeling capabilities.

Note that the Module list now includes a Water Quality module (Module List Includes Water Quality). The Water Quality module will only appears in the Module dropdown list when the HEC-ResSim watershed is configured to use water quality (Module List Includes Water Quality). Additionally, the Toolbar now contains the water quality Station Tool (HEC-ResSim Main Window – Watershed Setup - Water Quality Station Tool).
