When performing water quality modeling, the Watershed Setup module is used to add meteorological (Met) and observed water quality (WQ) stations to the map schematic (in the map display area). Water quality stations, added to the schematic using the StationTool, accessed from the Toolbar (HEC-ResSim Main Window – Watershed Setup - Water Quality Station Tool), are not assigned to a specific Configuration. Instead, water quality stations function similarly to stream alignments, appearing in the map schematic regardless of the selected configuration in the Watershed Setup module. However, unlike a created stream alignment, the water quality stations are not visible in the Network module.
It is possible to use a shapefile (.shp) that contains the geographic location of water quality stations by importing the shapefile as a map layer. Then you can use the locations of the stations in the map schematic to add each station manually using the *Station Tool , from the Toolbar. Note: Before entering water quality data in the Water Quality module, meteorological and observed water quality stations should be defined in the Watershed Setup module (HEC-ResSim Main Window – Watershed Setup - Water Quality Station Tool) module.
