To manually add or edit the upstream and downstream cross-section linkages for an ResSim reach:

  1. Select Reach: Drag the Geometry Editor window next to (or on top of) the ResSim main window. In the Geometry Editor, from the Connections tab, select the ResSim reach of interest (e.g., Yoakim Bridge). The selected element will be highlighted and zoomed into the map window schematic display area in the ResSim main window (e.g., Yoakim Bridge highlighted in yellow).
  2. Identify Upstream Cross-Section: In the ResSim main window, from the Toolbar, select the Pointer Tool . Hover over the cross-section at the upstream end of the highlighted reach, and the station number will appear in the tooltip (e.g., Station: 58134.3 as shown in Example – HEC-ResSim Map Schematic Identification – Geometry Editor – Connections Tab – Upstream and Downstream HEC-RAS Cross Section Assignment).
  3. Identify Downstream Cross-Section: Similarly, use the Pointer Tool  to hover over the cross-section at the downstream end of the highlighted reach. The station number will display in the tooltip (e.g., Station: 49055.59 as shown in Example – HEC-ResSim Map Schematic Identification – Geometry Editor – Connections Tab – Upstream and Downstream HEC-RAS Cross Section Assignment).
  4. Repeat for Other Reaches: Follow these steps for the remaining ResSim reaches listed in the Connections tab of the Geometry Editor.
  5. Save Edits: Once the linkages are set, click Apply to save the changes. Alternatively, click OK to save the changes and close the Geometry Editor.
