Background

HEC-MetVue reads spatially distributed data for visualization, analysis and processing. The Dynamic Time Window Toolbar allows the user to dynamically scan through and animate time intervals within data loaded into any Map Window with the following functions:

ItemDescription
Animation and Dynamic Data Scanning enable checkbox. Checking this box locks the toolbar in place, and begins setting up dynamic data viewing.
Animation Type Selector. Options are Time Window (moves entire time window), Start Date (keeps end date fixed and moves start date) and End Date (keeps start date fixed and moves End Date)
Play button to start animating data
Pause button to pause the animation. This is only enabled after play button has been pressed.
Stop button. When animation is playing, this will stop the animation and return the data to the first time step.
Step back button. This steps back the viewed time window one increment back.
Dynamic time window slider controls. See Interacting with the Dynamic Time Window Controls for details.
Dynamic time window slider range
Step forward button. This steps forward the viewed time window one increment back.
Start date of the viewed time window.
End date of the viewed time window.
Step increment amount. The increment that animation steps forward, and the Step Forward and Step Backward  buttons use. The available increments are affected by the underlying data. For example, if the all images are of hourly duration or longer, "Minutes" will not be an option.
Step increment units.
Frame rate when animating. This is the rate at which the slider steps forward when animating, and therefore how fast images change in the Map Window.
Buffering status message (see Image caching with Raster Data)
