Training

CEIWR-HEC conducts training under the Corps-wide training program (Proponent-Sponsored Engineering Corps Training, PROSPECT). Courses are typically one-week sessions at CEIWR-HEC covering technical subjects in hydrologic engineering and planning analysis, and applications of CEIWR-HEC computer software. The instructors are all individuals knowledgeable in hydrologic and hydraulic practice, and water resources planning. Most instructors are directly engaged with the development of the software packages, and support the software on Corps studies. PROSPECT conducts a survey within the Corps for courses to be offered during the next fiscal year. After the program is set, typically in June, the courses are available to others on a space-available basis. The Program allows both public and private professionals to register for courses, although priority registration remains for Corps and federal employees. Applications from state, local, and private individuals typically go on a stand-by list until sixty days before the class. The USACE Learning Center (ULC) manages PROSPECT registrations and provides details of the process at http://ulc.usace.army.mil/HowToRegister.aspx. Please direct inquiries regarding course content and pre-requisites to Lea.G.Adams@usace.army.mil of CEIWR-HEC.
