Introduction

The intent of the first part of this workshop is to familiarize the student with data entry into HEC-DSS using HEC-DSSVue and tabular and graphical editing of data.  Data can be loaded into HEC-DSS using a variety of methods, including several programs written for specific formats such as SHEF (NWS real-time data), and NCDC (NWS archived).  This workshop will be concerned only with entering data manually by either typing it in or pasting it from another application using the system clipboard.

In the second part of the workshop, we will be examining HEC-DSSVue’s tabular and graphical editing capabilities.  Besides modifying individual data values in a table, several procedures will be looked at to modify a set of data, including interpolation between data points and simple arithmetic functions on data.  Importing data will be covered in a later workshop.
