Launch the HEC‐MetVue executable ("metvue.exe" with the blue raindrop icon), which is available under the "bin" directory of the HEC-MetVue package.
HEC-MetVue Shortcut
HEC-MetVue can also be launched using the metvue.exe shortcut located in the main folder of the HEC-MetVue package.
Open HEC‐MetVue Project.
From the File menu, select Open Project File …
Browse to:...\HEC-MetVue_TimeSeriesSampling\
Select the project file "TimeSeriesSamplingWorkshop.metvue" and Press Open.
Browse through the Map Windows and zoom to the watershed map level.
Go to the "Sioux_James" Session.
Select the "MBRFC Precip 1HR" Map Window.
Zoom in to the Sioux River watershed in the states of South Dakota and Iowa by expanding the Session Defaults, expanding the active mapping files and right-clicking on the "Sioux_James_HUC8s.shp" shapefile and selecting "Zoom To This Map."
Right-click inside the "MBRFC Precip 1Day" Map Window and select the option to "Sync Map Windows to This Map Window."
Finally, go to the toolbar and click the Tile Window button tile and view all the Map Window side by side.
Now that you have launched the program, opened the project, and can view the loaded datasets, proceed to the next task to review some of the Project Settings
