First, you will edit map layers and change some display settings to customize how the map panels display.

  1. Select the Acquisition Tab. This gives you access to the Data Acquisition Module in the CAVI.

  2. Clean up the map window by turning off all the time series icons. To do this, uncheck each of the time series icons layers from the Layers drop-down list (bottom left).

  3. Now, add an Internet Map. From the Maps menu, select Add Internet Map and choose the Google Terrain Map.

  4. To make the background map more clear and speed up its display, change the display coordinate system of the map panel to the internet map's native coordinate system.
    1. Select Maps>Display Map Coordinates>Internet
  5. Next, adjust the map layer display settings to remove the fill from the subbasins shapefile, and change the color of the centerlines.
    1. From the Maps>Map Layers menu, right click the RussainSubbasins.shp and select Properties…

    2. Uncheck Display Fill and click Apply. You can change the border color from the Border tab. 
    3. Next, change the color of the RR_StreamAlignment.shp layer to cyan.
  6. Your map panel should look something like this:
