Background

You have been asked to assist in obtaining data for a hydrologic study that will examine the affects of Climate Change for flows into Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in California. Hetch Hetchy is located in Yosemite National Park and is one of the primary water supply reservoirs for San Francisco. Water is transferred from Hetch Hetchy to San Francisco via a 160 mile canal/conduit, as shown below.


Hetch Hetchy Watershed

Hetch Hetchy is at an elevation of 3,800 feet and its 459 square mile watershed extends to an elevation of over 12,000 feet. The majority of the inflow is from the Tuolumne River. The figure below shows the terrain of watershed.
